Drew Dunlap

Dunlap Studios is just one person, and that’s me: Drew Dunlap. I am an experienced graphic designer and illustrator with a focus in print design. My goal is to bring unique and diverse artwork to my client’s projects or bands that will set them apart and help them reach a broader audience. I am constantly trying to better myself as an artist and designer so I can surpass every style and keep my clients looking fresh and up-to-date.

I have done work for organizations such as 100 Club of Arizona, National Performing Artists, Bare Apparel, and bands such as Right Away Great Captain (Manchester Orchestra), Foreknown Apostolic and Second Nature to name a few. If you would like to view my actual resume please check out my linkden profile or shoot me an e-mail and I’ll send you a copy.

Want to know more?

Where is Dunlap Studios located?

I currently reside in the East Valley of Arizona, with my beautiful wife and daughter.

What are your weapons of choice?

For software I use the Adobe CS3 Design standard suite. My favorite application is Photoshop, but I get a good use out of all of them. I also use Corel Painter X and Inkscape when needed and iMovie for video editing.

For hardware I operate on a Mac Pro with a 24″ Dell Ultrasharp. I use the standard Mac keyboard, but I use a Logitech MX Revolution for my mouse. And last but not least, I could not live without my 9×12 Wacom. In my opinion it’s the greatest invention on earth, and the best birthday present a wife can give her husband, thanks baby!

For traditional arts I sketch with large Moleskine notebook and a Behance actionbook. I normally use mechanical pencils, but I also have a love for fine-tip Sharpies and India Ink.

Who are your biggest inspirations?

For design, I love the work of Neil Durden, Chuck Anderson and I am constantly following the guys at GoMedia.

For illustration and traditional art I love the work of Dan Mumford. I love the paintings and drawings of David Jon Kassan, literally the greatest painter on earth. I also love Banksy for his originality and dedication to his art and opinions, Iove yet to see one of his pieces in person.

Other than that, I rely on itsnicethat.com, designiskinky.net and the wonderful Stumble Upon.

Who are your favorite bands?

I’m really big into Pedro the Lion, Iron and Wine, Manchester Orchestra, and Owen. I’m really big into music so, my favorite band changes every week.

What are your favorite movies and books?

My favorite movies and books change about as much as my favorite bands. My current favorite movies are The Fountain and Pan’s Labyrinth. My current favorite book is “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close”.

What are your favorite foods?

Hot wings, hot wings and… hot wings.
